Cabinet Jules LELEU (1883-1961)

Signature: Signed J. Leleu in inlaid ivory cartouche on the inside of the right door. Numbered on the back with the number 23786.
Date: late 1940s
Origin: France, Art-Deco period
Description: Cabinet with a quadrangular body supported on four feet, from which rise, like cylindrical columns, two frames that frame the cabinet on its front, serving in turn as a base for a molding that, as a light cornice , frames the upper part of the cabinet. Doors decorated in marquetry with a pattern of rhombuses or diamonds alternating two tones. In its middle-upper central part, and framing the lock, a large geometric-floral ornament. Turned front feet and topped, at the bottom or support, by aged gold-plated brass protections.
The interior is divided into two sections, one for each door, separated from each other by a vertical strip, with four horizontal shelves in each.
Materials: Side frames, front columns, cornice and legs in mahogany wood. Front doors in mahogany veneer alternated in marquetry with a rhomboid or diamond pattern in two tones. Interior shelves in sycamore and rosewood and rear frame in beech wood.
The central geometric-floral ornament in tin and brass metal.
Brass metal on legs and brass fodder on top and bottom trim.
