ANTIQUE COLOR AQUATINT AFTER JEAN FREDERIC SCHALL
An antique French color aquatint print on paper, The Surprised Lover, 1881, depicting a scene in a garden, a young woman coming from behind a young man sitting with some billets doux scattered at his feet, and covering his eyes, after Jean Frederic Schall, French, 1752 to 1825. Print made by Charles Melchior Descourtis. Titled in the print lower to the center. Inscribed in the print lower right and left. Presented in a wooden frame with a relief metal ribbon with flowers pattern on the top.
