General Sir Ian Standish Monteith Hamilton TLS Dated 29th March 1919. Sir Ian Standish Monteith Hamilton, GCB, GCMG, DSO, TD (16 January 1853 - 12 October 1947) was a British Army officer who, following an extensive British Imperial military career in the Victorian and Edwardian eras, commanded the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force in the Gallipoli Campaign of the First World War.
