MONTMORIN ARMAND MARC DE: (1745-1792) Count de Montmorin Saint-Hérem. French Minister under Louis XVI. Murdered in the Abbaye prison during the September massacres. L.S., Louis, by the King´s Louis XVI secretary, and countersigned `Cte de Montmorin´, one page, oblong folio, vellum, Paris, 29th September 1787, in French. The letter is a patent-license given to Sieur Bourdon as a result of his knowledge of English, Spanish, Potuguese and Italian languages stating `His Majesty holds him as his secretary interpreter of the mentioned languages.. and specially for the Consulat administration..´ Some overall foxing, otherwise G £200-300
