Edition of ‘Haaretz’ – declaration of the UN regarding the partition and establishment of the State of Israel, November 30, 1947.
The main headline reports a historic event—“It was decided to establish a Jewish state by a vote of 33 nations for, 13 against, 10 abstentions, 1 absent.” Also appearing on the first page: pictures of Herzl and Chaim Weizmann, and a map of the Partition Plan. The editorial article opens with the sentence: “This historic hour will remain in our memory for generations.” It cost 22 Israeli cents. Signs of folding, light tears in the white margins. [2] pages. 57cm. Generally good condition.
