'A Terrible Warning' - A Poster by the Rabbis of the Adath Community Involving the "Dardim" of the Deniers of the Zohar, Jerusalem [1934]
A printed poster on behalf of the rabbis of the Arabs in Jerusalem against Peleg in the Yemenite community, deniers of the Zohar and opponents of the Kabbalah, which was dubbed 'Dardim' [the generation of Da'eh] in the language of the Sages. Horev printing press. Jerusalem [1934]
"See we see flying under the name of the" Organization of the Father of David "part of the Yemenite community from the city of San'a talking about the holy Zohar and the books of the wisdom of Kabbalah in general ... Drink in the sky mouth and tongue walk in the land, contradict and destroy the building and faith first as angels and last, Talmudic scholars, according to the words of their foolishness, all of them have erred in awe, and according to their opinion that they will lose to idol worshipers, they will think. The poster contains various evidence of the inseparable part of the Torah of Kabbalah from the tradition of Israel ("Who is greater than the Ramban ... and at the end of his days he had to learn Kabbalah ... and the last of them was Rabbi Chaim ben Atar ... and the wisdom of Kabbalah ... ']. It also tells a story about a man named Aharon Halevy who came to Yemen and spoke about the Book of Zohar and finally turned out to be a Christian, and more.
On the margins of the poster are signed by the Rabbis of the Badatz for the Western community Rabbi Shmuel Azran, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Chelouche and Rabbi Shalom M. Azulai.
The Dardim is a small branch of Yemenite Jewry that was founded in the city of Qatana in the early 20th century by the Yahadist Rabbi Yahya Kapah and his students, and was divided among the Yemenite Jews regarding the wisdom of Kabbalah and the Book of Zohar. Kabbalah was seen as a foreign plantation in the Jewish tradition. In the Land of Israel they encountered strong resistance from both the Yemenite community [which they called 'stubborn'] and from all the Jewish streams in the country. In recent years, the group has been represented by the disciples of Rabbi Yosef Kapach who saw him as the successor of his father.
