“Laws of Yom Tov” from Maharit Alghazi, Livorno 1794. First edition.
“Laws of Yom Tov” is a book on the laws of the first born, starting from the Ramban, with a long exegesis by HaRav Yom Tov Alghazi (tz”l), the friend of HaHida, Livorno 1794, first edition, 215 pages. The Hatam Sofer wrote about the Maharit: “and the land was illuminated in his honor from this composition which is called ‘Laws of Yom Tov’ on the firstborn and excels in increasing its resourcefulness. From the first days of the King to the day of its composition a book of this quality had not been seen.” The book is in good condition, except for a few bits of moth damage. Original binding with water stains. An additional book of this compiler is in the catalogue, lot no. 186.
