Commentary on Megilas Eicha from the great Kabbalist Rabbi Shmuel di Ozida, author of Midrash Shmuel on Avos.
Rabbi Avraham Matisyahu of Shtefanesht's namet is engraved onto the title page and again on page 2a. On the page prior to the title page, there is a list of names for blessing, health, salvation and offspring.
Rabbi Avraham Matisyahu of Shtefanesht (1848 - 1933) was the only son of Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Shtefanesht. He was circumcised on the knees of his holy grandfather, the Alter of Ruzhin, and learned the aleph-beis with him at the age of three. A pious and holy rabbi, he gained world acclaim as a holy leader and many came to him for advice and blessing. Rabbi Betzalel Shafran wrote about him: "Who did not know how great the powers of that man [was]… who served G-d with fear and love… to whom many of our brethren, both close and far, paid heed…"
