Silver Hanukkah lamp. Jerusalem, 1930.
Cast and engraved silver.
Hanukkah lamp with a backplate and a rack with the oil fonts. Shamash positioned on the upper right side. The backplate has a vegetal contour. An embossed Hanukkah lamp is depicted in the center (after the Temple's Menorah), on a triangular leg, topped with a Star of David and a crown. On both sides of the Menorah and above it appear shields inscribed with Hebrew writing. On the right side: "I…Eliyahu Daniel Kolia son of Sarah am giving today to the synagogue [deleted word] Yerushalem a pure silver Hanukkah lamp". On the left: "After my death…". On the bottom: "Created by Shlomo Mizrahi". On the upper part, in two small shields, "Eliyahu HaNavi…". Engraved in the Star of David (late addition): M"D. Hook for hanging on the reverse.
21X27 cm. Good condition. Soldering marks.
