Golyshev I. A. The Book of names in the form of manuscript album [Bogoroditserozdestvenskaya Church of the village Klimovsky in Vologda province, Velsky uyezd] 1746 / Pic. and ed. of I. Golyshev, Member of societies: History and Russian antiquities. at Moscow University and Moscow archeology of Golyshevka, near the settlement of Mstera, 1891. - [2], 7 p., 34 p. col. ill.; 42x.28 cm. In publishing ornamented cover. With title page and full-color illustrations made in Golyshevka in the technique of chromolithography and in I. Golyshev’s lithography method; the text is printed in Vladimir governor printing house. Minor contamination of the cover, pale stains, fox stains.
The album was published at Golyshev's own expense, as well as his other works, the number of copies of which ranged from 50 to 125.
Our specimen belonged to the artist Dmitry Stelletsky, as evidenced by his handwritten inscription "D. Stelletsky" in the upper right corner of the front cover.
Ivan Golyshev (1838-1897) was a Vladimir peasant, unprofessional archaeologist and local historian, lithographer and publisher. In 1858 he opened his own lithography in Mster, specializing in printing splint pictures, fortune-telling tables, etc. Being supported by the Secretary of the Vladimir Governor, the statistical Committee and the editor of the ‘Vladimir provincial news’ K. P. Tikhomirov Golyshev commenced local history studies and the study of ancient monuments of art and life. He published works on statistics, ethnography, history and archaeology in the ‘Vladimir provincial news’, in the eparchial and central newspapers, as well as in the publications of the Vladimir provincial statistical Committee (more than 500 articles and notes). For his works I. A. Golyshev was elected to many Russian historical and archaeological scientific societies, awarded the title of hereditary honorary citizen and awarded the orders of Stanislav and Anna.
Dmitry Semyonovich Stelletsky (1875-1947) - painter, graphic artist, sculptor, book illustrator, scenographer. One of the most prominent artists of the Russian Diaspora abroad. A distinctive feature of the artist's work is the desire to describe the traditions of ancient Russian art and the desire to reconsider them at a completely new stage of the development of the Russian culture.
