Letter dated 1864, written in response to the proposal of R. Eliezer Lipman Silberman of Lyck, editor of Hamaggid, to publish a book containing letters of appreciation and blessings to Sir Moses Montefiore from rabbis and communities around the Jewish world. Rabbi Rubin reports that the local Chevra Kadisha gathered to congratulate Sir Moses and inscribed his name in their Pinkas to ensure that prayers will be said for him after his death. He also asks R. Silberman to publish the letter in Hamaggid.
