RABBI AMRAM BLAU, LEADER OF NETUREI KARTA, LETTER EXPRESSING HIS STRONG VIEWS ABOUT THE PROHIBITION OF ASSOCIATING WITH THE ZIONISTS .
In this interesting letter to Rabbi Yosef Ashkenazi, the close gabbai of the Satmarer Rebbe, Rabbi Amram Blau, leader of the Neturei Karta in Yerusholayim, asks for assistance to Rabbi Avraham Roth, who was raising funds for the Benos Yerushalayim School. Rabbi Blau explains that the school educates its pupils to distance themselves from the Zionists and refuses state subsidies.
Rabbi Amram Blau (1894-1974), born in Yerushlayim to an Old Yishuv family and studied under leading Yerushalyim rabbinical scholars. He headed the Neturei Karta, who strongly opposed Zionism and the State of Israel and fought for the protection of the holiness of Eretz Yisrael.
