A Vintage Chinese Silk Wall Floral Panel
A beautiful matted hand-embroidered silk panel from 1920-30. Floral Theme. Red Silk in the center is embroidered with Green Thin Border and Black Outer Border with a floral motif. Ca. 1920's/30's. Size: 17 X 12. in. Provenance: Collection of Edward Hyers Clayton (1886-1946). American writer and missioner. E.H. Clayton and his wife were missionaries of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society in charge of Wayland Academy, a missionary school in Hangzhou, China from 1912 to 1942. E.H. Clayton wrote a book Heaven Below based on his living experience in China.
