Bavaria coffee set - Jogo de café Bavaria
- Set of 6 coffee cups & matching saucers by Bavaria Waldershof porcelain, pattern 55 & 56, depicting "Fragonard" courting lovers, in a pastoral landscape scene.
This motif was apparently inspired by a French Rococo style painter, Jean Fragonard, and remained popular throughout times: in the latter half of 18th Century, around Marie Antoinette and Louis XV & XVI, and again in the 1980's with the Victorian revival.
Looking closer to the courting scenes- each one inset in a 22K gold plated surrounding - you are almost driven to the Past and can listen to the serenading.
All pieces are in very good condition. Never used.
