Extremely Rare Silvio Loffredo (1920-2013) Signed Large 45.5cm Ceramic Charger together with a copy of the book - Silvio Lofferdo Vita, immagini e immaginazioni. (Silvio Lofferdo Life, imagesan d imaginations) in which the charger is featured.
The main central image of the charger being that of the Fox & Cat from Pinocchio whilst other characters from the novel, including Pinocchio himself appear around the outer rim.

World renowned for his artwork Silvio predominantly worked on Canvas & Board. Pinocchio was a theme he addressed in the past but explored in depth during the second half of the nineties.
Executed in graphics, in paintings and in the unusual ceramic technique through the collaboration of the Dolfi manufactory of Montelupo Fiorentino.

From correspondence with Silvano Dolfi the vendor was informed that around 1993 Silvio, a friend of his late father Giovanni, was invited to the Dolfi factory where he painted less than a handful of his artwork on ceramics.
This unique piece of Italian pottery, a massive 45.5cm Signed Wall Charger depicts a scene from the famous Italian novel Pinocchio.

Earlier in the year the vendor was contacted by Marco Moretti, an expert on the works of Lofferdo who was in the final stages of his book, Silvio Lofferdo Vita, immagini e immaginazioni. (Silvio Lofferdo Life, images

At the request of Mr Moretti the vendor sent a photo of the Charger which is illustrated in his book, a copy of which is accompanying the Charger.
