Decorative Folding Wooden Chess Board with Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Floral Borders - An attractive folding wooden chess board, featuring a traditional black and white chequered playing surface surrounded by elaborate mother-of-pearl-style inlaid floral and geometric borders. The decorative frame incorporates repeating foliate motifs, diamond-shaped inlays and contrasting dark stringing, with further inlaid detailing to the outer edges. The board folds in half on metal hinges, opening to reveal two recessed wooden compartments for storing chess pieces or other gaming accessories. Possibly Middle Eastern or Indian in origin, with decorative workmanship typical of traditional inlaid games boards. Some surface wear, minor scratches and marks consistent with age and use. Chess pieces are not included. Exact timber and inlay materials have not been independently verified.
