Shoushan ‘Lion’ stone seal, Qing dynasty

A quadrangular seal of carved Shoushan stone with a creamy amber hue. It is decorated on one side with an incised poem, while on the upper side there is a free-standing image of a foo lion with a robust body and a fierce expression, showing its sharp fangs by tilting its head to one side. The legs are slightly bent, and the curled tail is arranged next to the body. It shows age-related wear and tear. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.

Size: 5.5 x 2.9 x 3.8 cm

Weight: 109.4 g
