Measurements: 42 x 34 x 34 cm. Enrique Pérez Comendador (Hervás, Cáceres, November 17, 1900 – Madrid, March 2, 1981) was a Spanish sculptor of the Sevillian School of sculpture. In 1906 the family, made up of the parents, three sisters and the man, moved to Seville, where the father took his job. There the family interacted socially thanks to the Jesuit Sofronio Pérez, Enrique's uncle. He studied at the Salesian school and at San Ramón. In 1934 he received the Grand Prix of Rome, remaining in that city until 1939, receiving a pension at the Spanish Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. During this period he made many nudes, studied Etruscan sculpture and fresco polychrome, and also made trips. to Greece, England, Austria and France.4 In 1935 he received the National Sculpture Prize. On October 25, 1986, the Pérez Comendador-Leroux Museum was inaugurated in Hervás, after the donation of the sculptural and pictorial legacy of the Pérez Comendador-Leroux couple by Roger Lecourtier Morel to the Hervás City Council. The museum is installed in the Casa de los Dávila, rehabilitated by the Provincial Council of Cáceres. The house is in an architectural complex declared a historical complex in 1969 with the collaboration of Enrique Pérez himself, a member of the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.
