'Maybe The Holy Rav of Satmar should Meet with the Leaders of the Zionists'. A Lengthy Zealous Letter Handwritten by the Holy Rav Rabbi Sholom of Schotz on how to fight Zionism.
A lengthy wonderous letter, sharp and heated, handwritten entirely by the holy Tzaddik the miracle worker Rabbi Sholom of Schotz - London, in which he suggests with courtesy that the holy Rabbi of Satmar himself meet, together with an important delegation of rabbis, the Israeli Prime Minister B.G. and surely will influence him. London, Menachem Av 1952.
Background:
This letter: The holy Rav of Schotz believed that during the holy Rav of Satmar's visit אם Eretz Yisroel, he should meet with the leaders of the Zionist Prime Minister B.G. and surely influence him, he and a large group of important and leading rabbis.
If the meeting turns out to be ineffective, it will stir the Jewish world, especially America, great rabbis having plead with the Jewish Prime Minister to have mercy on Judaism and Jews and he, on his part, did not relent nor listen at all. In a lengthy airmail letter, he pleads with his confidante the Chassid Gaon Rav Rabbi Hirsch Moskowitz who was also close to the holy Rav Rabbi Yoel of Satmar and the holy Rav Rabbi Mordechai of Bilgoray who was his relative, and suggests his doctrine.
These are some of the rare and sharp words that were written painfully by the holy Rav of Schotz: My heart burns upon seeing the destruction of my people ... I have been wondering about a great and holy man like the Tzaddik Gaon of Satmar Shalita why he insists on not meeting to persuade. In previous generations, all the Tzaddikim and great rabbis made great efforts for our brothers Bnei Yisroel, Maran the Tzaddik Gaon of Belz when he fought the Zionists and publicly cursed them by his pure table. What will happen if he takes some rabbis and meet with the wicked regime ... now when he comes to the Holy Land and is received by approx. ten thousand people and the evil person hears of it, it is impossible that he will not be moved ... and he should talk to him gently and eventually harshly.
Later, he writes additional sharp words: '... How can he miss such a great opportunity since he is now in Eretz Yisroel, if G-d forbid, he does not go, surely when he return home he will regret it ...'
'By his merit and that of his holy fathers and the merit of the many maybe he will do something...'
With courtesy, he praises the genius of the holy Rav of Satmar yet begs him to heed to 'Fortunate is the generation in which the greater heed the lesser'. 'May the Holy Rav Shalita not be angry with me G-d forbid, it is because of my sorrow and anger that I write from my heart and maybe my pen has written something inappropriate G-ds forbid but for G-d's sake for G-d's sake...' he asks his relative to read the entire letter to the holy Rav of Satmar and maybe he will consent.
