Manuscript, Sefer Ara DeRabbanan by Rabbi Yaakov Algazi with the Hagahot Afara DeAra by Rabbi Yehdua Ayash - copying handwritten by Rabbi David ben Avraham of Balbirishok (Lithuania), 1843 - pedigreed copy.
Sefer Ara DeRabbanan with the Hagahot Afara DeAra, handwritten, copied from the second edition (Livorno, 1783). The personal copy of Rabbi Levi Binen-Stock. [Lithuania], [1843].
Written on the lower part of the hand-illustrated title page: "והעתקתיו שנת תר"ג, מעשי ידי ולא להתפאר, דוד בן אברהם מבאלבירשאק". (copied in 1843 by David ben Avraham of Bolbirshok). With the stamp of Rabbi Levi Binen-Stock. On the last leaves are comments on the author's words.
Sefer Ara DeRabbanan by the Rishon LeZion Rabbi Yisroel Yaakov ben Rabbi Yom Tov Algazi, one of the sages of Izmir and Jerusalem, contains approx. 700 rules and stems of Gufei Torah, alphabetically ordered. The book was published for the first time in the author's lifetime in Kushtandina, 1745. The second edition was published with Hagahot Afara DeAra by Rabbi Yehuda Ayash, one of the leading sages of Algeria. Livorno, 1783. This handwritten copy was written in 1843 before the third edition that was published in Johannesburg in 1855.

[1], 14, [1], 15-50, [2] leaves. 34 cm. Most of the pagination was added later. The upper part of the title page is cut, not affecting the text. Stains. Moth holes. Some of the text has faded. A blemish to the corner of leaf 1 and the corner of the last leaf. On the leaf preceding the last one, only several lines were preserved, which were mounted on the lower part of a blank leaf. Wear to binding. Fair-good condition.
