Manuscript, Shut Rachash Lev by the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Chaim Shmuel Halevi Birenbaum, author of Ma'asseh Choshev, the son-in-law of Rabbi Akiva Eiger - copying handwritten by the son-in-law of Rabbi Akiva Sofer of Lvov (the son of the author of Hitorerut Hatshuvah) - manuscript from which the book Rachash Levav was printed.

Please refer to Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Chaim Shmuel Halevi Birenbaum.

Most of Rabbi Chaim Shmuel's manuscripts on the Shas were lost, except for his glosses on Sefer Sha'ar Hamelech which were published in Lvov in 1910 and were titled Ma'asseh Choshev.

This manuscript is an extensive correspondence with his brother-in-law the Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Heshel of Zlotapoli. The correspondence was copied by his son-in-law, Rabbi Akiva Sofer of Levov, the son of Hitorerut Hatshuvah, in fine, orderly script and from this manuscript the book Rachash Levav was published in  1959 by the Chasam Sofer Institute.
