Letter on the letterhead of the holy Gaon the Chafetz Chaim. Handwritten by his son the Gaon Rabbi Aharon, writing on behalf of his mother, the widow of Maran the Chafetz Chaim, expressing their gratitude to the philanthropist who supported him in his last years.

Yiddish letter on two pages, on the official stationery of the Chafetz Chaim himself, written in the second month after his passing in late 1933. In the letter, they express their gratitude for his support of Maran the Chafetz Chaim in his last years.

They thank the philanthropist Rabbi Avraham Mayers of New York for purchasing the books authored and published by the Chafetz Chaim and for the direct donations he had sent them.

The letter, with the many blessings, is rare due to its content and it being written on the official stationery of Maran the Chafetz Chaim.

The pious Rebbetzin Mrs. Freida Kagan was the second wife of Maran the Chafetz Chaim. They had two children - the Gaon Rabbi Aharon, and the Rebbetzin Sacks, who was the wife of the gaon Rabbi Menachem Mendel Sacks. She passed away in 1946 in New York.

The Gaon Rabbi Aharon Hacohen Kagan, the son of the Chafetz Chaim - moved to the USA and Canada. During the Holocaust, served as the Rav of Montreal. He passed away in New York in 1954.
