Very Large Volume - Manuscript of Drush on Parashiyos HaTorah by an Unknown Gaon Wien, 1875-1883

Handwritten volume, Drushim on the Torah and sermons for Shabbat Hagadol and Shabbat Shuvah - written during the years 1875-1883 - not published.

Written on the back guard leaves, on the right page: "באתי הנה קארלסבאד עש"ק ואתחנן יוד אב תרס"א לבקש מזור ותרופה. באעה"ח [=באתי על החתום] אישון לילה אור ליום ה' שופטים ער"ח אלול".

Written on the left page: "פה עיר וויען קרית מלך מוצש"ק תבא תרס"א טו"ב אלול מאסף לחדשי השנה הנ"ל".

This volume introduces citations from dozens of classic Drush and Pilpul books such as Parashat Derachim, Ninah LeItim and Yaarot Devash. The only Chassidic book cited here many times is Arvei Nachal.

The first half of the volume contains lengthy Drushim said by the author on Shabbat Hagadol and Shabbat Shuvah; the second half contains short Drushim on Parashiyot HaTorah.

Appearing on n one of the back guard leaves is a foreign notation referring to Brăila, a port city on the west bank of the Danube in Romania.

[370] leaves (approx. 740 written pages). 20 cm. Good condition. Stains. Original binding with a slightly blemished leather spine.
