Greek Bifacial Gnostic Gemstone with Abrasax
4th-7th century AD
A bifacial lapis lazuli discoid panel; to one face intaglio anguiped (the god Abrasax) with serpent-legs, sword and shield between 'AL'; to the reverse, enigmatic legend 'ΔΕ / NHKLA / EPFIIII / HTAΔ / IIIII'. 1.5 grams, 16mm (3/4"). Very fine condition.
