Greek Silver Signet Ring with Sphinx
5th-4th century BC
A silver finger ring comprising a slender D-shaped hoop, scaphoid bezel with intaglio profile image of as sphinx advancing with wing raised. 3.45 grams, 22mm overall, 18.95mm internal diameter (approximate size British R 1/2, USA 8 3/4, Europe 19.38, Japan 18) (1"). Fine condition.
Provenance
Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s.
