Bidspirit auction | A Trio of Framed Artworks

A Trio of Framed Artworks Including a Reproduction Chinese Print, a Batik by Sutin Malimping, and a Floral Watercolor - A collection of three framed artworks featuring varied subjects and techniques. The first is a framed museum-style reproduction print of a classical Chinese painting titled Mother Hen and Chicken. The composition depicts a family of poultry including a cockerel, a mother hen, and several chicks amidst sparse vegetation. A printed identification label on the mount refers to the original work by Emperor Hsuan Tsung (the Xuande Emperor, r. 1425–1435) of the Ming Dynasty. The print includes facsimile red seal marks and vertical columns of black ink calligraphy. It is presented in a gilt-finished frame with a wide buff-coloured mount. The second item is a batik painting on fabric depicting yellow orchids with purple centres against a dark blue background with characteristic wax-resist crackle effects. The piece is signed Sutin Malimping in the lower right, attributed to the Southeast Asian batik artist. It is mounted within a deep green mat and a gilt wood frame. The third item is a contemporary watercolor floral still life on paper, featuring a bouquet of blue and pink flowers in a pale vase. It is signed in the lower right Celia K... and is housed in a gilt-finished frame with a cream-coloured mat.
