A Masonic Master Mason Regalia Set for Piel Castle Lodge No. 6099 comprising Apron, Case, and 1968 Correspondence - A mid-20th-century Masonic regalia set associated with Piel Castle Lodge No. 6099, based in Barrow-in-Furness. The set features a Master Mason's apron designed in the United Grand Lodge of England style, constructed from white leather with sky-blue moiré ribbon borders and three matching rosettes. It includes two silver-toned metal ornamental tassels with chain-link hangers. The collection includes significant historical documentation and provenance: a typed letter on Piel Castle Lodge letterhead dated 9th September 1968, addressed to Mr M. Young of 22 Holbeck Road, Barrow-in-Furness, regarding his initiation ceremony scheduled for 23rd September 1968 at the Masonic Hall, Fairfield Lane. The letter, signed by Acting Secretary A. A. Kay, specifies attire requirements and initiation fees totalling thirty-two pounds and one shilling. Also included is a blue card-covered booklet titled PIEL CASTLE LODGE No. 6099 and a small cream-coloured card folder.
