Bidspirit auction | A Pair of George II

A Pair of George II Style Beehive Brass Candlesticks - A matched pair of cast brass candlesticks designed in the mid-18th-century George II style. Each candlestick features a circular nozzle above a multi-knopped baluster stem, often referred to as a beehive pattern. The stems are raised on heavy, square bases with clipped corners and stepped moulding. The items are sand-cast and finished by turning. There are no visible maker's marks, hallmarks, or country-of-origin stamps on the bodies or bases. Several contemporary adhesive labels are present, including orange stickers marked $4 on the nozzles and white stickers with handwritten numbers 12 and 12 12 on the underside of the bases.
