Joseph Clark, A Pair of Monochrome Prints depicting Royal Navy Scenes - A pair of monochrome prints, likely photogravures, after original genre paintings by Joseph Clark (1834–1926). The scenes depict sentimental domestic interiors featuring a Royal Navy sailor. The first print shows the sailor standing by a fireplace, gesturing towards an elderly man smoking a pipe and a seated woman, with young children looking on. A Union Jack is displayed in the background. This print bears a plate signature and date reading J. Clark 1910 in the lower right corner. The second print depicts the sailor standing at a dining table with a family. The sailor's cap is inscribed H.M.S. followed by characters that are not clearly legible. Both prints are set within white mounts and housed in matching modern silver-toned frames. Small orange adhesive stickers reading 239 are attached to the glass of each frame, and a small white label reading 20 is affixed to the mount of the right-hand print.
