Two Antique Metalware Items Comprising a Brass Handled Fireplace Poker and a Brass Garden Syringe - A pair of antique metalware implements consisting of a fireplace poker and a manual garden syringe. The fireplace poker is constructed with a wrought iron shaft and a cast, turned brass handle of baluster form terminating in a spherical finial. The horticultural syringe comprises a brass cylinder with a turned wooden plunger handle finished in red paint. The wooden handle features a series of regularly spaced circular indentations. An orange adhesive label attached to the brass cylinder is handwritten with the characters 202. A small white adhesive label on the wooden handle is printed with the character 1. The brass handle of the fire poker displays two small patches of white adhesive residue. No maker marks, stamps, or hallmarks are visible on either item.
