Bidspirit auction | A Collection of Decorative Porcelain

A Collection of Decorative Porcelain Tableware and Cast Iron Display Accessories - This collection comprises several pieces of decorative porcelain and associated display hardware. The primary item is a large porcelain platter featuring a traditional Imari-style palette of underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron red with gilded accents. The decoration includes a central bird motif, possibly a peacock, surrounded by chrysanthemum and peony blossoms within a panelled border. Also included is a porcelain plate with a scalloped, relief-moulded rim decorated with a silver-toned lustre and a transfer-printed floral spray of pink roses. A smaller porcelain dish or ramekin features a fluted exterior and a polychrome transfer-printed fruit design depicting a pear and blackberries against a white ground with a gilded rim. A fourth porcelain plate of plain white glaze with a simple gilded line at its scalloped rim completes the ceramic components. The lot is accompanied by a black plastic plate stand and a cast iron decorative object with a curved, scroll-like form. A small orange adhesive sticker is applied to the interior of the fruit-decorated dish reading 1.4. The base of the Imari-style plate shows printed blue characters, however, they are obscured by the other items and are not legible. No other maker marks or country-of-origin stamps are visible.
