A Cased Set of Silver Plated Fish Cutlery with Celluloid Handles - A boxed set of fish cutlery consisting of a service for six, including six knives and six forks. The blades and tines are constructed from electroplated nickel silver, featuring engraved foliate motifs to the knife blades and scrollwork at the bolsters. The pieces are fitted with smooth, rounded handles made from an off-white celluloid. The set is housed in a period rectangular presentation case with a textured dark brown exterior and a fitted interior featuring a cream silk lid lining and a dark velvet base with elasticated security straps. Stamped marks are present on the metallic components near the bolsters. On the knife blades, four rectangular stamps contain the letters EPNS, and a separate shield-shaped mark is present but is not legible as a name or specific manufacturer. The set includes a small orange adhesive price sticker reading 95 and a white rectangular adhesive label reading 18 18, both applied to the silk lining of the case lid.
