Bidspirit auction | Two Dolls and a Distressed

Two Dolls and a Distressed Wooden Chair - A lot comprising two dolls and a piece of miniature furniture. The first is a character baby doll featuring a composition or celluloid head with painted hair, blue sleep eyes, and an open mouth with two visible lower teeth. It is dressed in a long white cotton christening gown with vertical pleats and lace trim. The second is a smaller doll in traditional Welsh costume, composed of a hard plastic or vinyl body, fixed blue eyes, and a dark wig. The costume includes a black felt cockle hat with lace edging, a red and black checked shawl, a red skirt, and a white lace-trimmed apron, completed with white socks and black shoes. The dolls are presented on a wooden slat-back doll's chair finished in light blue paint. Small white adhesive labels with black numerals are applied to various surfaces for inventory purposes. No maker's marks or signatures are visible on the dolls or the furniture.
