Bidspirit auction | A Victorian Style Cast Metal

A Victorian Style Cast Metal and Frosted Glass Centrepiece Bowl - A decorative centrepiece bowl featuring a translucent frosted glass liner with a smooth rounded rim. The liner is housed within an intricate cast metal frame, likely spelter or patinated bronze, displaying a dark brown aged patina. The frame is designed with a wide, flared rim featuring relief-cast motifs of foliate scrolls, shells, and grape clusters. The body of the frame consists of vertical arched ribs intersected by a central horizontal band adorned with floral and ribbon swags. The structure is supported by a short pedestal stem resting on a circular domed foot, which is finished with a beaded and foliate border. An orange adhesive price or inventory label is attached to the interior rim of the glass liner. No maker’s marks, signatures, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on the exterior or base of the object.
