The artwork reproduces the cover of The Amazing Spider-Man issue number 40, originally published by Marvel Comics Group with a cover date of September 1966. The illustration, originally by artist John Romita Sr., depicts Spider-Man in a dynamic pose over a defeated Green Goblin against a background of yellow and orange flames. The print includes several legible textual elements from the original comic layout: the title The Amazing Spider-Man in large stylized lettering, a caption box reading SPIDEY SAVES THE DAY!, and a headline box at the right edge stating THE END OF THE GREEN GOBLIN!. The top left corner features a printed seal for the APPROVED BY THE COMICS CODE AUTHORITY and the number 10, while the bottom left includes a MARVEL COMICS GROUP logo and a 12c price mark. The top right corner shows the issue number 40 and the month SEPT. The design wraps around the edges of the wooden stretcher bars.
