Tom Dodson Signed Colour Print The Fairground - A framed and glazed colour lithographic print titled The Fairground by the British artist Tom Dodson. The narrative, folk-art style composition depicts a bustling and densely populated traditional British fairground scene. Featured attractions include swing boats with signage reading THE FLYING STEAM YACHTS, a carousel, a SHOOTING GALLERY, and a BOXING booth. The scene is populated by numerous figures in mid-20th-century period dress. The print is hand-signed in pencil to the lower right margin Tom Dodson. In the lower left margin, there is a small pencil-drawn insect, a personal mark frequently used by the artist. The print is housed behind glass in a dark wood frame with a gold-toned inner fillet and a wide cream-coloured mount. The work is after an original painting by the artist, who is known for his nostalgic depictions of northern English life.
