WW2 Wagon Transported German Expelled Family - 1945
Ultra rare item! An original and unique metal plaque that was attached to the wagon that transported a colonizer German family expelled from Poland back to Germany in March 1945! Hundreds of thousands of ethnic German families were transported back to German territories when Polish population and authorities expelled them. Text could be translated as: "Refugee wagon of the family Paul Steffen. Trek 1945 from Lindenkranz, Glogau district, through Dresden-Hof to Ködnitz". It was the Nazi Generalplan Ost that was implemented by the Nazis in part, with the aim of exterminating the Slavic population in Europe, considered of subhuman condition by the Aryan race. Then, when Germany was collapsing, the Poles took revenge and all the German colonizers were forced to run away - in many cases to avoid being killed or battered.
