Austrian painter and graphic artist of the 20th century. Studied at the Staatsgewerbeschule für Hochbau in Vienna, drawing lessons with Max Hegele. In the 1930s private lessons with Josef Dobrowsky. Belonged to the circle of friends around Karl Gunsam, Fernand Stransky, Ernst Paar, Herbert Potuzmik and Heinz Steiner. From 1937 member of the Hagenbund. From 1945 to 1950 in Salzburg, member of the Salzburg Art Association. Organized exhibitions at Café Weimar in Vienna, but withdrew from the art world in 1953. Initially influenced by Josef Dobrowsky, from 1945 portraits, landscapes and still lifes characterized by the intense colorfulness of Expressionism and elements of Cubism.
