Willow Auction House's Fall Great Estates Curated Auction features nearly 200 lots of first edition books, furniture, artwork and ethnographic items.


The sale features a large selection of books from a private New York City collector, including first editions and publications in their original serialized parts by George Eliot, Thomas Hardy, Charlotte Bronte, H.G. Wells, William Makepeace Thackeray and Charles Dickens.


Also up for auction is a variety of mid-century modern, oak and English furniture, including pieces by Tommi Parzinger, Paul Evans, Eames and Harvey Probber.


The sale also includes a large selection of artwork, including paintings by William Merritt Chase, Hermann Herzog, David Burliuk and Alfred Kowalski, as well as an Andy Warhol Cow Screenprint on wallpaper, and a large Franz Bergman cold painted bronze.

Jens Risom (Danish-American, 1916-2016). Executive desk for Jens Risom Design, Inc. Mid 20th Century. Walnut, "floating" top design with 5 drawers with Y-form pulls and pull-out leaves with glass insert (one is missing). Metal Jens Risom Design label on inside of top left drawer. Large scratches, marks, and water staining to top of desk. Staining to wood on both sets of drawer fronts. Chips to wood on front left corner of top. Wear and scratches to drawer pulls. Scuff marks and scratches to back of desk around legs and frame. Chips to bottoms of back legs and front feet. Pull of bottom right drawer is slightly loose. Chip to bottom left drawer front.
