Yalkut Yosef. Jerusalem, 1971. First Edition. Handwritten Dedication from Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef
"My son, my beloved, may he arise ever higher, and may his name be like the great ones of the Land ..." (Rabbi Ovadiah's approbation).
Yalkut Yosef on the four parts of Shulchan Aruch - the first book by the Rishon LeTziyon, Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, shlit"a, which he authored at just 18 years old. With a handwritten dedication from his father, the Rishon LeTziyon Maran Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef. This is the first volume from the first edition of the popular series of books.
Dedication by Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef to Rabbi Avraham Moshe Baba"d, shlit"a on the first page: "לכבוד ידידנו היקר הרב הגאון המפור' כש"ת כמהר"ר אברהם משה באבאד שליט"א. ברוב כבוד ויקר, עובדיה יוסף."
The gaon Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef [1920-2013] was the chief rabbi of Israel - the "Rishon LeTziyon, " spiritual leader and president of the Shas party's Council of Torah Sages, senior Sephardic rabbi of his generation, called "Posek HaDor." His period was the golden age of Sephardic Jewry in the Land of Israel.
The gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef [b. 18 Tevet, 1952] is the chief rabbi of Israel - the "Rishon LeTziyon, " spiritual leader and president of the Council of the Chief Rabbinate. Rabbi Yosef composed the halachic book series Yalkut Yosef based on the halachic rulings of his father, Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef. The series is especially popular amongst Sephardic Charedim in Israel and around the world.
Rabbi Avraham Moshe Baba"d [1900-1980] was a Chassidic rabbi and rosh yeshivah. He studied under Rabbi Meir Arik of Tarna and became his primary disciple. After his father's passing, he was appointed to succeed him as rabbi of the Jewish-Chassidic community in Gura Humora. He later ascended to Israel, settled in Bnei Brak and was closely associated with the Chazon Ish.
It is interesting to note that the address of the author which appears in this book is Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef's address, the reason for this being that at that time, the author, Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, was an 18-year-old youth still living with his parents ...
