Three discourses for special Shabbatot, festivals and times of celebration. By Rabbi Shmuel di Medina "Maharshdam". Mantua, 1622. Single edition. Two leaves of the "Shir L'Ben Shmuel" at the beginning of the book are missing.
On the last leaf is an index of chapters of Tehillim which the author explained in his discourses.
The author Rabbi Shmuel Di Medina (1506-1589) from the great scholars of Salonika, a contemporary of Rabbi Yosef Cairo, a student of Rabbi Yosef Taitaczak and Rabbi Levi Ben-Haviv, ‘MaHaralbach.’
He is known by the name of his responsa which were published as “Shut Maharashdam,’ on the four sections of the ‘Tur.’ This book of discourses is rare.
Ownership inscription on the title page and the last leaf. On the page after the title page are charts and ownership inscriptions. Tears with lack on the left hand side of the title page with no damage to text. The top of the leaf of the Shir L'Ben Shmuel at the beginning of the book is missing with damage to the page title.
