25-Cent Banknote from the Westerbork Concentration Camp. 1944. Rated 65 by the PMG
Banknote with a value of 25 cents used by prisoners at the Westerbork concentration camp in Holland.
The Westerbork concentration camp was a concentration camp established by the Dutch in 1938. After the Nazi conquest, it was used as a transit camp for Jews gathered from all over Holland, on their way to being transferred east. Notable among the Jews who went through this camp were Etty Hillesum and Anne Frank. Life in the camp was relatively comfortable. The Jews' property was confiscated at the camp, with bills such as this one given in exchange.
