CYPRIOT BRONZE IDOL FIGURE
Ca. 1700 - 1200 BC.A bronze female idol of an hourglass-shaped body rising from an integral flaring base. The legs joined together, arms outstretched and provide support for a small bird. Highly stylised face with a large, sculpted nose, bulging eyes, open mouth and circular ears with sizable rings attached. Reverse flat and unworked.Size: 250mm x 60mm; Weight: 240gProvenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s in France; previously in 1970s European collection.
