BACTRIAN COSMETIC PALETTE
Ca. 3000 - 2000 BC A Bactrian cosmetic palette made from a lightweight stone, possibly anthracite. Round in shape on a discoid short foot, the walls and all four sides are polished. For similar see: Sandro Salvatori's Early Bactrian Objects in Private Collection (1988), n. 85. Size: 60mm x 100mm; Weight: 245g Provenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old British collection, formed in the 1980s on the UK / International art markets.
