GROUP OF ROMAN BRONZE LEGIONARY EAGLES
Ca. AD 100 - 300.A group of five Roman figurines of eagles with folded wings. The feathers are stylised and made with incised lines. The eagles stands atop a pair of narrow, clawed feet. The heads display teardrop-form eyes, a planar brow, a petite incised mouth, and an intimidating aquiline beak. The third figurine shows outstretched wings.
