PAIR OF MUGHAL EMPIRE KATAR DAGGERS
Ca. late 17th – early 18th century AD.A pair of katar daggers, each with a triangular-shaped blade, tapering to a sharp point, with a prominent central rib. The H-shaped hand grip allows for a secure hold, positioning the blade to align with the user's forearm. The katar was designed for piercing armour, with the unique hand grip providing both protection and control during combat. Its structure makes it an iconic weapon of Indian origin.Size: 280-465mm x 70-70mm; weight 515gProvenance: Private UK collection; from an old British collection formed pre-2000.
