GROUP OF KHAZAR IRON LONG SWORDS WITH GUARDS
Ca. AD 900 - 1000.A collection of three swords, each featuring distinctive guards. The first sword has a double-edged blade with a shallow midrib and a short tang connected to a polygonal guard. The second sword features a curved blade with a single sharp edge, along with a short curved guard that is attached to both a polygonal and curved tang. The third sword has a slightly curved blade with one sharp edge, a curved polygonal tang, and a guard that includes two sphere-shaped fittings.Size: 780-1070mm x 93-80mm; Weight: 2.2kgProvenance: Private UK collection, acquired on the German art market; Ex. Austrian collection M.S.; Ex. Hermann Historica auction, 2019; formerly in a private collection in the 1970s - 1980s.
