EGYPTIAN BRONZE STATUETTE OF OSIRIS WITH SILVER INLAID EYES
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 525 BC. A cast bronze statuette of Osiris depicted mummiform, standing with both hands grasping a staff. The facial features are finely delineated, with silver-inlaid eyes, a straight nose, and full lips. A plaited false beard extends from the chin. The head is crowned with the Atef, consisting of the white hedjet flanked by tall ostrich plumes and a central uraeus. A broad collar is rendered in low relief across the upper chest. Mounted on a custom-made display stand. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
