EARLY GREEK / WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZE SWORD
Ca. 1200 - 800 BC. A bronze sword with a broad, leaf-shaped double-edged blade that narrows to a sharp point. The blade features a prominent central midrib running along its entire length. The base of the blade is cast into a guard with a curved profile. The hilt is composed of a narrow grip with a series of stepped elements leading to a pommel with a curved, crescent-like shape.Size: 420mm x 65mm; Weight: 555gProvenance: Private UK collection; Formerly acquired on the European art market from pre-2000 collections.
