Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A wooden mask from a sarcophagus with a broad, rounded face and gently tapering chin. The facial features are modelled in relief, with arching brows, bulging eyes with painted outlines and pupils, a long nose with a prominent bridge, and a small, pursed mouth.For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 10372, Antiquities, Lot 167.Size: 240mm x 170mm; Weight: 1.3kgProvenance: Private London collection; previously French art market 1970s/1980s.
